The Regionalliga Nordost has its first Player of the Month of the new season, and the honor goes to Obed Ugondu of FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt. Following an impressive start to the campaign, the 22-year-old striker has been rewarded by fans, who cast their votes in large numbers.
Ugondu has been one of the standout performers since the league kicked off, recording five goals and one assist across the opening fixtures. His sharp eye for goal, combined with his strength and pace, has made him a constant threat to opposing defenses and a key figure in Rot-Weiß Erfurt's attack.
In the community voting, Ugondu prevailed against strong competition and finished with more than a third of the votes:
